Cook yourself happy – the man behind the scenes

Born in Mannheim in 1976, Volker Mehl is in the meantime living in Wuppertal. After his A-levels, he made a detour to the university of Mainz in order to study RC theology.

However, after one semester and a certificate in Hebrew, he followed the upcoming idea of walking on a different path. The experience of studying nevertheless turned out to be a very useful one as the topic of enshrining himself with books had finally found an end.

Another loop way followed, his apprenticeship as an insurance salesman, which finally lead to the urge to throw himself into something very different: his training as an Ayurvedic health promoter that shaped up to be a watershed.

In living and working with Ayurveda he has found his personal and professional determination. Since then, he has enjoyed following his two great passions, cooking and interacting with people, every day.

In addition to operating his cooking school in Munich he not only works as a freelancer for the German “Yoga Journal” and the cooking portal “BonGusto.de” but also presents his own radio broadcast on “Radio Lora”, Munich.

In the field of workplace health promotion he conducts cookery courses for o2, Home Shopping Europe, Health insurance company Bavaria and the university hospital in Heidelberg. Over and above, he is regularly bound for Germany, Switzerland and Ibiza offering various workshops in Yoga centers.

Hotels and catering businesses consult him regarding the implementation and conception of Ayurvedic and vegan dishes. Amongst them, the five star boutique hotel “Louis” in Munich (www.louis-hotel.com) and the Mediterana in Cologne, Europe’s biggest wellness facility (www. mediterana.de). As well he supervises professional athletes, for example the German  Olympic gold and silver Medal Champion in Cross Country 2010, Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle. In April 2010 he gets his own Ayurveda cooking show on the Internet broadcast station Sangha TV.His joy of mediating Ayurveda is immediately felt by everyone who has ever experienced him working.

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda, the science of life, is a concept as old as mankind. The roots originate in present-day India.Ayurveda is neither connected to esoterism nor is it a fly-by-night lifestyle phenomenon.Ayurveda stands for a holistic and individually adapted lifestyle, based on knowledge that has been bequeathed over the last 5000 years. Nutrition and especially spices are seen as means of health promotion. And this is exactly what he would like to familiarize the participants of his cookery courses with.

For one day only or over a longer period of time, Volker Mehl can be booked for individual and exclusive advice on nutrition.
